15). Ishavasya Upanishad – Prayer for SELF Knowledge

Truths face is covered with a golden lid; remove that, O Pūṣan, that I, Truth’s devotee, may see It.

The seeker has understood the limitations of his ego-bound identity  – limited awareness. He is praying to SELF to reveal Itself.

Pusan is nourisher – the name of the sun.  Sunlights up the world.  The world is nothing but mithya names and forms.  Seeker is using a beautiful analogy of a golden disk of sunlight shining on the earth covering the SELF.  Brahman is covered by names and forms in the form of five elements – Space, wind, fire, water, and earth. The individual self is covered by mithya body-mind-intellect.  Through this prayer, he is seeking removal of the veil of Maya covering SELF.
