SELF KNOWLEDGE TALKS 10 Part 2 Contd.

We spoke of three bodies i.e., the gross body, the subtle body and the causal body. The gross body consists of the physical matter i.e., the five elements, the five sense organs, the five organs of action, along with the five pranas. These form the gross body. The gross body is used in a waking state. In waking condition, we use the gross body for interacting with the physical world.

But what happens in the dream state? In the dream state, you forget the gross body. There is no gross body. Now, it is the subtle body. The subtle body enjoys the dream state. It goes through various dream landscapes. It sees something in the dream and it interacts with so many things. It is the subtle body.

In a deep sleep state, the subtle body is also forgotten. You enter into the causal body. You forget everything. Deep sleep state is not a state of absence of awareness but it is the state of awareness of absence of objects. So, you enter into a causal body. After death, the subtle body and causal body, move together to another body. And, at the time of enlightenment, the causal body gets destroyed, so that there is no more support for the subtle body.

The Jiva realizes that “I am the Atma”. Atma is nothing but Brahman, Consciousness. So, ignorance is dropped. For that, I would say:

“Naanu naanembudu naanalla. Ee deha mana budhi naanalla. Sachidananda Atma Shiva naanu naane. Shivoham Shivoham Shivoham”.

“I am not the body, I am not the mind, I am not the intellect, I am pure Consciousness.”

This realization destroys the causal body.
