Question:
Enlightenment is often described as “being” the flow of life, with the acceptance that everything is impermanent… But isn’t “living in the flow” what we are all doing anyway?
Sri Prabhuji:
Everything life is impermanent. Change is the nature of life. Situations in life keep changing moment to moment. Mind labels situations /Events as “I like”, “I don’t like”. We keep craving for situations we like and avoid what we don’t like. We want to hold on to situations favorable to us ( I like).
We resist flow of life. We want good things to last forever while unfavorable conditions should never come in life. We don’t live in the moment accepting whatever life offers with calmness. Constantly We worry about future or regret about past. Life is always in present moment while our mind is past/future – craving for things. This causes mental stress.
To live in present moment, accepting whatever life offers with calmness is flowing with life.
