Question:
Is Kundalini Shakti another word for Brahman?
Sri Prabhuji:
It is the Maya Shakti of Brahman. There are two Maya Shaktis of Brahman, Avidya Maya & Vidya Maya. Avidya Maya, also called as Kundalini causes bondage. Same Kundalini when awakened becomes Vidya Maya which causes liberation.
Brahman in the form of Ishvara takes three roles – Brahmaji, Vishnuji, Shivji. Maya Shakti of Ishvara manifests as Jnanashakti – wife of Brahmaji. Brahmaji with Saraswati (jnana shakti) creates universe. Saraswati represents total knowledge needed for creation (Sarvajnatva of Ishvara).
Lakshmiji represents Ichha Shakti of Lord. She represents all the powers of Bhagavan – dhana, dhanya….and desire. Desire is called lakshyam(goal).
Parvati represents kriya Shakti of Ishvara. As energy She manifests as universe (shakti). She is Kundalini.
Brahmaji, Vishnuji, Shivji together called Ishvara represent the creative, sustenance and destructive power of Brahman + Maya.
Same Parvati is called Durga – durgati nashini – destroyer of ignorance when Shivji takes the form of Adiguru for the purpose of liberation – jnana.
At the level of individual same Maya Shakti manifests as covering and projection called Avarana and Vikshepa and becomes Kundalini. This is called avidya Maya.
When kundalini is awakened through jnana, she becomes Vidya Maya.
Thus Brahman as Ishvara has 5 forms – Brahmaji the creator, Vishnuji – Sustainer, Shivji as destroyer, manifest world for causing bondage and the form of Sadguru for giving liberation – jivanmukti.
Corresponding 5 powers of Maya are Saraswati, Lakshmi, Durga, Avidya Maya and Vidya Maya.
