Question:
Language is just sounds with made up meanings. So the 60,000 thoughts we have on a daily basis are just sounds and images right? If there is no “Me/I” or “self” and it’s just a repeated thought, what’s the purpose of creation of thoughts, ego, planets, life and death? What’s the point of life? If consciousness is the ultimate reality, what’s the point of consciousness creating humans, creating thoughts which lead to pain, suffering and separation?

A painter creates a painting on canvas. Painting requires multiple colors. Single colour cannot create painting. Black alone or white alone cannot create painting. Combination of black and white is required to make a painting.
Similarly Creation requires polarity or duality of good and evil, happiness and sadness, light and darkness….
Ego is a thought but soul is not thought. Soul identifies with ego to develop personality and experiences life. Challenges and Variety in life forms the field of experience for soul. Going through various experiences, soul matures. Maturity requires field of experience. In a sense we can say Creation (field of experience) is University. Universe is university for gaining maturity. Souls are more like seeds. The seeds have to sprout, become plant and grow into a tree. This requires manure and fertilizer. Similarly universe provides adequate challenges and opportunities for soul to mature and discover its true potential. True potential of soul is pure consciousness. Universe is there for journey of soul from ignorance to enlightenment.
The concept of me comes from identification with ego – I thought. For experiencing and experimenting with life ego is needed. A coconut has husk and shell protecting the soft kernel. Once coconut is ready for becoming tree the shell and husk break. Similarly ego is the shell for soul. As the soul matures, the ego breaks leading to realization of Divinity within.
