Question:
How does nondual thinking work? How does perspective shift from dualist to nondualist? What triggers the shift? What changes?
Sri Prabhuji:
SELF is non dual pure consciousness (awareness). It is the ego which objectifies the SELF by identification of SELF with body and mind with the thought process “I am body”. This objectification is based on deep rooted belief system of objective reality and forgetfulness of real SELF which is awareness.
Non duality takes an approach of investigation into deep rooted belief system about the nature of SELF and world. Systematically unchanging REALITY of SELF is separated logically from changing material reality. This process of discrimination is called viveka ( nitya anitya viveka and atma anatma viveka). This process involves logical separation through a process of negation (neti, neti) of non-SELF.
On systematic enquiry pure non dual awareness is recognized as SELF uprooting earlier belief systems of objectified SELF. In this process there is clear and direct intuitive apperception of SELF called aparoksha jnana.
