Question :What is the difference between Ajatavada and Advaita?
Shri Prabhuji:
Advaita is darshana. Darshana is not “philosophy”. Philosophy is mental speculation while darshana means realization. Darshana is, “to see is to be – realization of Truth
Advaita means no “two”. It is a negation of duality. Consciousness is the only reality – there is no other reality. It is assertion of non-duality of consciousness.
But in our experience there is consciousness and matter in the form of world.
Advaita being a darshana, a system of realization gives method of investigation called prakriya to realize this Truth. Ajatavada is one of the several prakriyas taught by Master to investigate relationship between consciousness and matter (world). A student takes up different prakriyas to investigate Truth of Advaita. Ajatavada is one such prakriya.
Ajatavada prakriya investigates nature of world (creation) to come to conclusion that there is no resl creation. Non dual consciousness appears as world. It is like saying rope is perceived as snake – in reality there is no rope + snake. Similarly there is no consciousness + world but consciousness itself appearing as world.
