Question: Why is it so difficult to perceive the so-called “unconditional love” in the understanding of non/duality?
Sri Prabhuji: We love objects or people which give us happiness. This is conditional love. We are seeking happiness by loving.
Unconditional love is when we have discovered our true nature as happiness. My nature is happiness. I don’t need happiness from objects. This realization frees us from conditional love.
We have to discover our true nature through process of Self enquiry – “who am I ?”. When we discover our true Self nature we also discover that all objects or people are nothing but “appearance” of Self nature only. In this realization subject-object duality disappears and non-duality and unconditional love alone shines.
It is difficult to perceive unconditional love until we discover our true nature through process of Self enquiry.
