Question:
Losing something in life and subsequent grief and suffering is meaningless as Atma is not destroyed and changeless. It implies that what we cherished through out our life is finally valueless. Certainly there must be some value to all that has been and is being in our life?

Dear Atmajyoti, coconut has husk and hard shell as covering. What is the purpose of hard shell and husk ? It is protecting the soft kernel inside. When the soft kernel sprouts new coconut tree, the kernel and husk are not useful. Their utility is till the germination and birth of a new tree. Same thing applies in your life. Your school is useful till you go to college, after that it is not useful. Your parental home is required till you get married! Child needs a tricycle till he/she rides a cycle. Similarly everything has a value until you outgrow that. When you are ready for mukti/enlightenment everything else becomes useless. Are you ready???
