Question:
Guruji, BG 7.19 says,
After many births and deaths, he who is actually in knowledge surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is, Such a great soul is very rare. Here what is that knowledge ..krishna referring to?
Sri Prabhuji:
Dear Atmajyothi , Knowledge is of two types – Para vidya ( Supreme Knowledge) and apara vidya ( lower knowledge). Para vidya is Atmagyan (knowledge of Self) and apara vidya is knowledge for making living such as science, maths, engineering etc. Para vidya is supreme knowledge bestowing enlightenment and liberation.
7. Bhagavad Gita – Formula for Inner Peace
Bhagavad Gita is a universal scripture; it has identified peace as the goal of human mind. What is peace? Peace is absence of conflict in the mind. Mind is always full of conflicts, there is a war that is going on in the mind, there is an intellectual conflict, and there is a mental conflict. Should I do this or not? Is this right or wrong? What should I do? What I should not do? I should not have done this or I should have done this, there are conflicts in the mind. Bhagavad Gita helps us to resolve the conflicts in the mind by following a yogic way of life that is called Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga and Kriya Yoga, a very practical approach to life.
Human being means head, heart, hands and energy. This is what a human being is. For head Bhagavad Gita gives a teaching of Jnana – Wisdom, for the heart Bhagavad Gita gives a teaching of Bhakti – devotion, for hands Bhagavad Gita gives a teaching of Karma – action as service, for energy Bhagavad Gita gives a teaching of Kriya – energization techniques through meditation. So, it addresses the human being as a totality and when these are in harmony human being attains a peace. So Bhagavad Gita’s message of peace is that use your head heart hands and energy for your evolution and service to mankind. Whichever aspect of life you are in, whichever stage of life you are, follow your dharma and do your duty to the best of your ability by offering fruits of that to God. By doing this your mind becomes purified, mind becomes peaceful and ultimately you attain a peace.
