There are two paths – yoga and jnana. Bhagavadgita 3.3
Path of yoga starts with belief that I am seperate from God. Yogi tries to improve and perfect self by various practices to attain God. This is path of progressive realization (krama mukti). Time and effort is involved in yoga marga.
On the other hand path of jnana starts with belief that seperation from all pervading God is illusion. We are already perfect and illusion to be dropped by self enquiry. This is path of sudden realization (sadyo mukti).
Realization is here and now – no time factory is in volved.
Yogi aims for perfection, jnani discovers perfection.
