Desires are like fire. No matter what we do in life desires cannot be fulfilled fully. New desires keep cropping up one after the other. Fire of desires keeps burning life.
An intelligent person understands the nature of desires and develops a desire to be free from all desires. This is a very big desire – mother of all desires. It is called mumukshatva. Mumukshatva can only be fulfilled by Wisdom (Jana). Wisdom of blissful infinite SELF frees one from all desires.
Hence it is said in Bhagavadgita – fire of wisdom burns all desires (jnanagni dagda karmani)
Fire of desires burns life causing stress. Desire itself can be burnt by fire of wisdom of Blissful Self.
