The word heaven brings up various beautiful images in the mind. People believe in going to heaven or hell after death. In reality heaven is experienced here and now. The secret of “h-e-a-ven” is “even” mindedness which is hidden in the spelling of word “heaven”.
“Events” in life are unpredictable. Ups and downs, success and failures are common occurances. Can we be “even” minded in facing “even-ts” in life ?
This “even” mindedness is called “sthita prajnatva” or enlightened mind in Bhagavadgita. How can we be even minded – the secret of this lies in sanskrit word “Swarga” which stands for heaven. One who is established in unchanging witnessing SELF (Swa) lives blissfully in heaven while he/she is here and now.
