Everything in life is temporary. Pain-gain, joy-sorrow, success-failure, name-fame do not last.
Everything in life appears in the form of connected opposite pairs of duality.
Like the head and tail of a coin which cannot be separated, the connected opposite pairs of duality cannot be separated. Joy is bound to be followed by sorrow, unhappiness bound to be followed with happiness so on and so forth.
Wise one smiles at life knowing very well transient nature of duality. He/she smiles at life knowing very well all experinces are temporary and only the witnessing SELF is eternal.
