Water appears as waves, bubbles and water. Water itself is unaffected, unchanged. Similarly SELF alone appears as body, mind and the world. SELF is unchanged and unaffected by appearances. SELF is higher level reality (Absolute Reality- Paramarthika satya) while appearances are lower level realities(transactional reality – vyavaharika satya). Lower level reality cannot affect blissful SELF.
