Gita Jayanthi

On the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti, let us reflect upon the timeless wisdom of Srimad Bhagavadgita. This sacred scripture is both a Yoga Shastra and a Moksha Shastra. While the Yoga Shastra imparts the art of righteous living, the Moksha Shastra reveals the path to liberation from life’s turbulence. Together, they convey the profound message of action and freedom.

Bhagavadgita: The Scripture of Action
Srimad Bhagavadgita emphasizes the importance of dharmic action—actions that are holistic and benefit the greater good. Shri Krishna’s teachings to Arjuna remind us of the necessity of performing our duties with the right intent, free from attachment to the results (Karma Yoga). The Gita guides us to undertake actions not merely for external success but as a means to unfold our inner Reality.

The Journey Within
While action operates in the external world, it serves as a tool for self-realization. The ultimate goal is to recognize our true nature as the infinite Self. This spiritual journey combines Atmano Mokshartham (liberation of the self through right understanding) and Jagad Hitaya Cha (service to the world through right action).

On this sacred day, let us rededicate ourselves to the teachings of Shri Krishna. By aligning our actions with Dharma and seeking freedom from illusions, we can traverse the path of self-realization and contribute meaningfully to the world.
