Dear Atmajyotis,
Wish you and your family Very Happy Makara Sankranti.
Makara Sankranti marks the beginning of Uttarayana, the northward movement of the Sun, considered an auspicious period of spiritual significance. Uttarayana represents the path of light, wisdom, and enlightenment. To honor this, special lighting (makara jyoti) is observed. In some parts of India, kite flying is a tradition on this day, symbolizing the individual soul’s aspiration to rise higher in consciousness (chidakasha), reflecting the celebration of enlightenment and the spiritual essence of Makara Sankranti.
