Monkey catcher creates a trap for monkeys by placing a peanuts in a jar. Monkey tries to grab fistful of peanuts and the hand gets stuck in the jar. The monkey catcher comes and makes the monkey slave. This is metaphorical story about bondage and liberation.
Monkey mind clings onto trivials. Clinging and craving binds us into the world (samsara). True freedom (Moksha) is achieved by letting go of cravings and attachments.
