Gift of Present Moment

Mulla Nasruddin sat in the market, looking sad. A friend asked, “What’s wrong?”

Nasruddin sighed, “I regret selling my donkey yesterday. But I also fear I won’t find a better one tomorrow!”

His friend laughed, “What about today?”

Nasruddin blinked. “Today? Oh! I forgot about today!”

Just then, someone ran up. “Mulla, your old donkey is still outside your house!”

Nasruddin grinned. “Ah! The present moment is truly a gift!” He ran home, vowing to live in the now—at least until dinner.
