Question :
How did the Gotra system come?
Sri Prabhuji :
Originally Rishis started gotra to pass on jnana to their “spiritual” children and ‘spiritual’ grand children. Now gotras are used only for marriage alliance. Spiritual chidren-grand children-great great grand children carry the wisdom. That is ‘Go’ ‘Tra’, where, Go means veda and Tra means protection.
