Question:
In one of your talks you said, “Sadguru is the Supreme Being, Sakshat Parabrahman, there is no one higher than Sadguru (not even Gods) and he alone can liberate”
But, in other talks I heard you telling the importance of praying/chanting Krishna, Rama, Dattatreya? Isn’t that misleading? Sorry for asking like this. I am confused.
Sri Prabhuji:
Sadguru – realized Master does not force anybody’s evolution. He gives teaching of liberation (SELF-Knowledge/Atmajnana) for evolved seekers who approach him for knowledge of Liberation (JivanMukti).
All people who approach Sadguru are not in same level of evolution. Some of the people have to do Upasana of different kind to purify themselves for Jnana. Sadguru gives what is required for evolution depending on the seeker. For example students of primary school, middles school college approach a Nobel Prize winner for teaching. The teaching given by Nobel Prize winner is different for different levels of students.
In general, a person goes through Karma Yoga, Upasana before getting Jnana. Karma Yoga, upasana are preparations for Jnana by providing purification of mind – chitta shuddhi. Upasana is prescribed as preparation for some of the seekers based on their maturity. Not all people qualify for Jnana without adequate preparation. It is like saying high school education is required for someone to go to college.
A mantra received from realized Master helps in purification of mind and final liberation. It is called Guru Mantra. Chanting Guru Mantra takes one from Japa (chanting) verbally to Manasa japa (mental chanting) to Ajapa (SELF).
