Question: What does it mean to say “I Am” when speaking about Brahman or Atman as described by Advaita Vedanta?
Sri Prabhuji:
I AM is the sat (existence) and chit (consciousness) aspect of Brahman in the Jiva (human beings).
When Brahman or the Pure Consciousness reflects on the body-mind, first and foremost, the “I AM” feeling appears in that. Then starts the series of identifications like “I am this Body, I am this mind, I am man, I am woman etc”
