Question: If enlightenment or nirvana is beyond words, why are there so many descriptions of it?

Enlightenment teachings are about removing falsely held beliefs and self identities through a process of negation (neti, neti). It is like step by step peeling onion. Skillful teaching by enlightened Master helps one to drop layers and layers of false beliefs and identities. For this negation process teaching is employed. What is left after peeling the layers of onion ? Nothing. Similarly what is left after peeling of self identities and ego ? Nothing ! That nothing is True Self beyond words. Words are used to go beyond words !
