The word “love” has several flavors. When the love is between equals it is called sneha. Love between the opposite sex is called prema. The love for higher like God/Guru is called Bhakti. When there is love with a feeling of separation between the devotee and God is there it is called apara bhakti (lower love).
When the devotee merges with God there is no two (Advaita) pure LOVE alone shines and is called para Bhakti (Supreme LOVE).
