Know the Unknowable

There are two categories of things in the world – known and unknown. Unknown can be known through some effort.

However the SELF which is the knower can never be known as an object. SELF is “unknowable” always beyond the known and unknown. In reality SELF is the substratum of known and unknown.

Unknowable SELF is ever known intuitively as “I AM” where “I”represents consciousness and “AM” represents existence.

When the intuitive sense of “I AM” is separated from the perceived known objects of body and mind the real subject “I” – Light of the SELF (Atmajyoti) shines. Knowing the Unknowable , imperceivable SELF is called intuitive apperception (direct experience/aparoksha anubhuti/Self realization).
