Festival of Navaratri is called Navaratri Utsav. The word utsav means upsurge of energy. Celebration of awakening of energy is Navaratri. Awakening of three aspects of energy Prajna Shakti (wisdom energy – Ma Saraswati), Prema Shakti (energy of love – Ma Laxmi) and Kriya shakti ( Energy of action – Ma Durga) leading to enlightenment is celebrated as Navaratri Utsav. The upsurge of energy (shakti) through 6 centres (chakras of body) merging with Consciousness (Shiva) is the real essence of Navaratri Utsav. Shakti meets Shiva in Sahasrarara chakra leading to enlightenment. On the tenth day enligtenment is celebrated as final victory – Vijaya Dashami.
