What can we surrender ? Nothing belongs to us. Everything belongs to nature (prakriti) including our body. The body is an instrument for action. We can only surrender the illusion that the body is mine. Action leads to illusion of doership. We can only surrender the illusion of doership.
Unconscious ego centric actions for “me” can be dropped with conscious actions of selfless service (karma yoga). Karma yogi surrenders fruits of action to Lord (Ishvara) and works as an instrument of Ishvara. In this process all the actions of such a yogi become “unactions (naishkarmya)”. Selfless service is surrender.
Paropakartham Idam shariram – body is for service.
