Knowledge and ignorance

Self-knowledge is needed to overcome self-ignorance, but both become irrelevant with Self-realization. True understanding of the Self transcends knowledge and ignorance. Self-knowledge acts as a tool to remove self-ignorance, just like a thorn used to remove another thorn. Once self-ignorance is removed, both are no longer needed, as one attains the bliss of Self-realization.
