Desires for liberation (mumukshatva)

All desires have to be dropped including desire for liberation – this is given as spiritual teaching by some.

There is a fallacy in this. Desire is movement in life. No desire – no movement. That is the reason Vedanta gives lot of importance to desire for liberation (mumukshatva).

How to drop desires for liberation (mumukshatva)? Only when one realizes he/she is liberated (mukta) all the time, it is the mind which creates illusion of bondage, one becomes free from desire for liberation.

Desire for liberation (mumukshatva) should be converted to desire for wisdom. Seeker should approach a wise man (jnani/sadguru) to get the teaching of self enquiry (who am I – atma vichara) to become free from illusions of mind and realize I am free from limitations always. I am liberated (mukta), the real SELF does not need liberation.

Desire for liberation is transcended by Self enquiry under guidancr of wise Sage.
