Bindu represents drop – individual Jivatman. Sindhu represents the ocean Paramatman.
Realization of the teaching of Tat Tvam asi (That Thou Art) means jivatman (individual) is one with the Universal (Paramatman). In other words bindu (drop) is one with Sindhu (Ocean). Land of such enlightened beings was called Sindhustan (oceanic bliss). In Persian language Sindhustan became Hindustan.
Hindustan is the Holy land (Punya Bhumi) where people who realized wholeness of life lived.
